38th/Blake Station Area Plan Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 17 January 2009
The city of Denver is about  to restart the process for the 38th/Blake station area plan. This process initially centered on the station that was proposed to be sited at 40th St/40th Ave. The East Corridor Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has changed the location of the station due to RTD’s property acquisition negotiations with the Union Pacific RR.

Our first public workshop will be Wednesday night, February 4, at the Wyatt-Edison Charter School, 3620 Franklin St., from 5:30-8 pm. It has been nearly 2 years since the last public meeting on this plan, and many conditions have changed. At the workshop, we will:
  1. Summarize changes in the East Corridor EIS for this proposed station
  2. Recap previous planning efforts and relevant City policies and plans
  3. Discuss existing conditions, opportunities and challenges in the adjacent communities
  4. Describe the relationship between this planning process and the EIS
  5. Solicit your input for how future infrastructure and land use should be developed in this area to support the community’s priority goals
  6. Answer your questions as best we can
This process is expected to take about six months, over which we will hold at least two workshops and an open house. But it will only be successful to the extent that you are involved because it is your community—you are the expert. Please try your best to attend and help spread the word to others in the community.
